Why we started
In the last five years more public attention and awareness has grown with regard to the meaning of “sustainability” and how we can integrate its practices into our daily lives.
Initiatives such as the Al Gore movie (‘An inconvenient Truth’), the focus on sustainable concepts within the academic sector and the ‘Cradle to Cradle’ book (William McDonough and Michael Braungart) have been of great influence on people and media.
As a consequence, effective cases in which a significant contribution to sustainable development have been put into practice in the last 7 years, bringing us to a transition period towards a sustainable society.
We strongly believe that to achieve sustainable results, collaboration between citizens, education institutions, government and industry is required. Departing from this idea we have developed the Desycle ® model which integrates the elements of a sustainable production chain (C2C) together with the 5P model (People, Planet, Practicality, Pleasure and Profit).
